Neurology Care
Specialized evaluation, treatment & recovery support for post-auto accident injuries and brain trauma.
Neurology Care for Auto Accident & Concussion Patients
Focused neurologic evaluations to identify brain and nerve injuries that may not be immediately visible after trauma.
Neurological injuries are among the most commonly overlooked consequences of motor vehicle accidents. While some symptoms appear immediately, others develop gradually—days or even weeks after the initial trauma. A comprehensive neurological evaluation plays a critical role in identifying injuries to the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves that may not be visible on standard imaging alone.
Our neurology services are designed to provide thorough, evidence-based evaluations for patients experiencing persistent or unexplained symptoms after an auto accident, concussion, or traumatic injury.
Why Neurologic Evaluation Matters After a Motor Vehicle Accident
Even low-speed collisions can generate significant forces on the brain and nervous system. Sudden acceleration, deceleration, and rotational movements may disrupt normal neurological function without causing obvious fractures or bleeding on imaging studies.
A neurologic evaluation helps:
Identify subtle brain and nerve injuries
Correlate symptoms with objective clinical findings
Distinguish neurologic causes from musculoskeletal pain
Guide appropriate treatment and recovery planning
Early identification of neurologic involvement can significantly improve outcomes and reduce the risk of prolonged or chronic symptoms.

Conditions We Commonly Evaluate & Treat

Concussions & Mild Traumatic Brain Injury (mTBI)
Concussions are a form of mild traumatic brain injury and are common after auto accidents, even without direct head impact. Symptoms may include:
✓ Headaches or head pressure
✓ Dizziness or balance problems
✓ Brain fog or difficulty concentrating
✓ Light or noise sensitivity
✓ Sleep disturbances
Neurologic assessment is essential when symptoms persist or interfere with daily function.

Mild to Severe Radiculopathies & Nerve Injuries
Traumatic forces can compress or irritate spinal nerve roots, leading to radiculopathy. These injuries often present as:
✓ Radiating neck, arm, or leg pain
✓ Numbness or tingling
✓ Muscle weakness
✓ Changes in reflexes
A neurologist helps determine the severity and source of nerve involvement and collaborates with rehabilitation providers to guide care.

Post-Traumatic Neurologic Symptoms
Patients may experience neurologic symptoms that are not immediately attributed to a specific diagnosis, including:
✓ Post-traumatic headaches or migraines
✓ Visual or vestibular disturbances
✓ Cognitive or memory changes
✓ Sensory abnormalities
A detailed neurologic evaluation helps clarify the cause and establish an appropriate care pathway.
Meet Our Neurologist:
Samir Haddad, MD
Dr. Samir Haddad, MD is a highly experienced neurologist with decades of clinical expertise in the diagnosis and management of complex neurological conditions, including those commonly seen after motor vehicle accidents. His background combines academic medicine, private practice leadership, and advanced subspecialty training—allowing him to provide thorough, evidence-based neurologic evaluations for patients with both acute and chronic neurological symptoms.
Dr. Haddad completed his neurology residency at St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York, where he was awarded a certificate of graduation and achieved board eligibility in Neurology. He went on to pursue a neuro-oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, one of the nation’s most prestigious academic medical institutions, further strengthening his expertise in complex neurologic disease processes.
In addition to his hospital-based training, Dr. Haddad served as an Attending Physician in the Department of Neurology at Long Island College Hospital, where he oversaw neurology residents and medical students. Since 2002, he has led and developed a large private neurology practice in Long Island, New York, providing comprehensive neurologic care to a diverse patient population.
Dr. Haddad’s clinical experience includes:
Post-traumatic neurologic injuries
Concussion and mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI)
Radiculopathies and nerve compression syndromes
Headaches, dizziness, and post-concussive symptoms
Complex neurologic diagnostics and longitudinal care
Dr. Haddad is known for his methodical diagnostic approach, careful correlation of imaging and clinical findings, and his ability to clearly explain complex neurologic conditions to patients—particularly those navigating recovery after auto accidents or head injuries. As part of the care team at Rocky Mountain Concussion, Dr. Haddad works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment to ensure that neurologic injuries related to concussion and trauma are accurately identified, clearly documented, and appropriately managed as part of a comprehensive recovery plan.
“At Rocky Mountain Concussion, our team takes a medically integrated, brain-focused approach to recovery. We emphasize structured, active treatment strategies that are often underutilized in concussion care, yet are critical for supporting neurologic healing beyond simple rest.”

Integrated Neurology & Rehabilitation Care
Neurologic care is most effective when integrated with a multidisciplinary treatment approach. Our neurology services work in coordination with chiropractic care, physical rehabilitation, and concussion-focused therapies to ensure that each patient’s neurologic findings are properly addressed within their overall recovery plan.
This collaborative model supports:
Accurate diagnosis
Coordinated treatment strategies
Ongoing monitoring of neurologic recovery
Clear communication across providers
When Should You See a Neurologist After an Accident?
You may benefit from a neurologic evaluation if you experience:
Persistent headaches
Dizziness or balance problems
Numbness, tingling, or weakness
Memory or concentration difficulties
Symptoms that worsen or do not resolve with time
Early neurologic assessment helps clarify whether symptoms are related to brain or nerve involvement and ensures appropriate care moving forward.

Neurologic Documentation for Auto Accident Cases
Objective neurologic findings, detailed examinations, and accurate clinical records help ensure that injuries are properly identified, clearly explained, and appropriately addressed as part of a comprehensive treatment plan.
Proper documentation also creates a clear clinical timeline of symptoms, findings, and progression over time. This is especially important when neurologic symptoms evolve, persist, or do not respond as expected. Detailed records support continuity of care among providers and help ensure that treatment decisions are based on measurable clinical evidence rather than symptoms alone.
For patients recovering from an auto accident, well-documented neurologic evaluations help provide clarity, consistency, and confidence throughout the recovery process—ensuring that neurologic injuries are fully recognized and appropriately managed.
